Short and sharp rock treat from Kite Collectors – ‘Wonder’

Clocking in at just two minutes and thirty seconds, ‘Wonder’ is perhaps the most concise example of good independent rock we’ve heard in some time. Getting straight to business after the acoustic opening, this track builds momentum quickly without wasting anyone’s time, even finding some time for the electric guitar to shin without the endless noodling of so many independent (and established) rock groups.

The track is taken from ‘Clockface’, something of a character driven concept album from UK trio The Kite Collectors. The album itself comprises 14 tracks, only one of which lasts over 4 minutes (ironically it’s titled ‘Let Me Use Up My Time’). The rest, if they adhere to the short, sharp impact of ‘Wonder’, have the potential to make up an album with real momentum.
