Atmospheric indie from Tablefox – ‘Objects’

When it comes to writing music, there are arguably two main contributors to how it will sound (beyond the talent of the individuals responsible that is). First, comes the inspiration for the music. Second comes the atmosphere and environment in which it’s recorded.

Listening to this ‘Objects’ album from Tablefox, it seems that the natural talent of this band has melded with a specific set of circumstances to really capture a moment in time for the group. The emotion of the lyrics likely rises from the number of tragic family bereavements that surrounded the writing of the album. Then, the fact that it was recorded in an old, unused hospital in the heart of New Zealand makes for surroundings that no doubt inspired the sound further.
